About Fort Totten#

Named after a fort built during the Civil War, Fort Totten overlooks the Soldiers’ Home or Military Asylum and President Lincoln’s summer home. It's located near Washington, DC’s border with Maryland, close to Silver Spring, and several miles from the US Capitol. Since most of the homes were built in the 1900s, they appear more utilitarian compared to other DC housing. There are also row or townhomes from the mid-1900s and some mid-to high-rise apartment buildings in Fort Totten built in the past few decades. Learn more about Fort Totten.
